Search Tips

CREATE PHRASE SEARCHES

If your concept is more than one word-- magical realism, the book Children of Men, the author Henry James--put quotation marks around the keywords to create a "phrase search."

USE TRUNCATION

Put an asterisk after the main part of the word to include alternatives--dystop* will find the words dystopia and dystopian, or to replace a letter--wom*n will find woman and women.

CHOOSE THE BEST "CONTENT TYPE"

"Journal Articles" --sometimes called "scholarly" or "peer reviewed"--make a closer examination of the literary work and offer support for opinions about the work.
