Starting life abandoned in a ditch was an inauspicious start for the black and white border collie mix. Rescued by Vicky Wilcox of Hampstead, North Carolina, Mikie would go on to star in a series of award-winning television spots airing from 1999 – 2001. The advertisement campaign was developed by former public information officer David Hardin and produced by the FilmDogz production agency.
