Need more children's books for your lesson plan or project?
CFCC has a good collection to choose from, but you'll want to check your public library as well.
Take proof of residence and a photo ID to a library in your county. All CFCC students are also eligible for a New Hanover County Public Library card with a current CFCC ID.
New Hanover County Public Library has four locations, the main library in downtown Wilmington, plus Northeast, Myrtle Grove and Carolina Beach branches.
A special Kids Catalog allows younger users to display covers of juvenile books that match their topic search, and the Kids’ Page includes TeachingBooks.net, and the TumbleBook Library page sponsored by WorldBook.
WHAT IS INTERLIBRARY LOAN?
|If the CFCC Library does not own the book or journal article you need, we will request the item though Interlibrary Loan (ILL) from another library. Videos and other audiovisual materials are not available from other libraries. There are sometimes charges associated with journal article borrowing, so please let us know what amount you are willing to spend for the article.|
HOW DO I GET STARTED?
You can initiate the process online:
Reference or Circulation staff members can help if you have questions.
WHEN WILL I GET THE BOOK OR ARTICLE?
Allow 7-10 days for receipt of books. Journal articles--which are sometimes sent to us by email or FAX--usually arrive much sooner. Once an item is received, you will be notified by telephone and email. The lending library sets the length of time materials may be kept, so it's very important to be prompt in picking up, using and returning all ILL materials.
