ProQuest [17 p.] Global illicit trade involves the economic exchange of prohibited goods and services, ranging from the trafficking of illegal narcotics, endangered wildlife, stolen cultural artifacts, illegal weapons to the exploitation to migrants and sex workers. The economic, organizational, and social friction between illicit supply chain actors and law enforcement creates multiple risks and coordination costs. Furthermore, the uncertainty of the regulatory, legal, and competitive environment, specificity of physical and human assets, and transactional frequency inherent in illicit supply chains exhibit unique transaction costs, such as concealment, evasion, and corruption. This paper proposes a conceptual model based on the theoretical framework of transaction costs economics and case analysis, in order to glean some insights into the institutional dynamics, transaction costs and operational components of these supply chains.

Logistical and cross-functional drivers of supply chain have an important role in managing customer satisfaction. Customer satisfaction depends on quality, cost, and delivery. In this paper, a fuzzy mixed integer nonlinear programming model is proposed for a multi-item multi-period problem in a multi-level supply chain. Minimization of costs, manufacturing and transportation time, transportation risks, maximization of quality by minimizing the number of defective products, and maximization of customers' service levels are considered to be objective functions of the model. Furthermore, it is assumed that the demand rates are fuzzy values. An exact ε-constraint approach is used to solve the problem. The problem is computationally intractable. Therefore, the Non-dominant Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) is developed to solve it. The Taguchi method is utilized to tune the NSGA-II parameters. Finally, some numerical examples are generated and solved to evaluate the performance of the proposed model and solving methods.

The purpose of this study is to gain insight on how a POM course can be designed to cover topics that best serve Marketing majors, Business Management majors, Accounting majors, and Supply Chain Management minors, and also how the knowledge of POM topics could better enable students to accomplish their professional goals. The findings of the study may be used to help customize the curriculum of the POM course to better equip students with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for success in their chosen careers.

ProQuest In this article, we investigate supply chain-related drivers that contribute to organizational flexibility (i.e., the ability of top management to be responsive to a firm's internal and external needs). Organizational flexibility occurs when a firm outsources manufacturing and operates with a more flexible structure. Drawing upon the supply network perspective, this study develops hypotheses relating attributes of the supplier, customer, and focal industries to the use of a flexible organizational strategy. Using an industry-level data set to test the hypotheses, we show that heterogeneity of supply sources and scale economies (in the focal and down-stream industries) are positively associated with a greater degree of organizational flexibility, in terms of contract manufacturing in the focal industry. However, industry concentration levels in the focal and down-stream industries are negatively associated with organizational flexibility.
