IAFSS was founded with the primary objective of encouraging research into the science of preventing and mitigating the adverse effects of fires and of providing a forum for presenting the results of such research.

Our mission is to provide leadership to current and future career, volunteer, fire-rescue and EMS chiefs, chief fire officers, company officers and managers of emergency service organizations throughout the international community through vision, information, education, services and representation to enhance their professionalism and capabilities.

the IAFF is the primary advocate for providing fire fighters and paramedics with the tools they need to perform their jobs. The IAFF provides a strong voice in the development and implementation of new training and equipment, and has worked hard to ensure the proper staffing of fire and EMS departments.

Our primary purposes are to increase the knowledge and improve the skills of persons engaged in the investigation and analysis of fires, explosions and arsons, or the litigation that ensues from such investigations.

The mission of the International Association of Women in Fire and Emergency Service (iWomen) is to provide a proactive network that supports, mentors, and educates
current and future women in the fire and emergency services. iWomen is dedicated to improving the fire service through the involvement and success of women.

The United States Congress created the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to lead a nationwide effort to remember America's fallen firefighters. Since 1992, the tax-exempt, nonprofit Foundation has developed and expanded programs to honor our fallen fire heroes and assist their families and coworkers.

The mission of the international nonprofit NFPA, established in 1896, is to reduce the worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on the quality of life by providing and advocating consensus codes and standards, research, training, and education.

The National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC) is the only national organization whose sole purpose is to represent volunteer fire and emergency medical services (EMS) personnel. Since 1976, we've proudly supported volunteer fire and EMS departments nationwide through our advocacy, tools, resources, and programs.

The purpose of the Society is to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members and to foster fire protection engineering education.

Our goal is to work with organizations across the fire service to give our members access to specialized content that addresses all aspects of their jobs

The mission of the North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs is to provide a wide range of programs designed to meet the needs and enhance the skills of Fire Service Managers, so they may better protect and educate the fire service and public from the adverse effects of fire, sudden medical emergencies, or exposure of dangerous conditions created by either man or nature.

The North Carolina Fire Marshal's Association and the North Carolina County Fire Marshal's Association have merged to form one, unified organization dedicated to the protection of life and property to the citizens of North Carolina. The Association promotes safety through active involvement in the code development process and continuing education for our membership.

The NCIAAI promotes the profession of Fire/Arson Investigation throughout the State of North Carolina. The NCIAAI also provides professional training for the fire/arson investigative community.

Manages the state's voluntary certification system comprised of 32 subjects, in which more than 100,000 fire and rescue personnel participate. Fourteen certification programs are active including: Firefighter, Instructor, Technical Rescuer, Fire and Life Safety Educator, Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator, Emergency Vehicle Driver, Hazardous Materials Responder, Fire/Arson Investigator, Fire Officer, Marine Shipboard Firefighter, Firefighter, Airport Firefighter, Chief 101, RIT and Wildland.

The SBI has statewide jurisdiction and investigates homicides, robberies, property crimes, and other serious cases. Involvement is at the request of the local department that maintains original jurisdiction over the case. The SBI has original jurisdiction in these areas: Drug investigations, arson investigations, election law violations, child sexual abuse in day care centers, theft and misuse of state property, and computer crime investigations that involve crimes against children.

The mission of the North Carolina State Firemen’s Association is to serve our 51,000+ members. We will respond to our member’s needs by using effective means of communication, providing defined financial benefits and developing needed programs.
